Description:
Multiple vulnerabilities were reported in Mozilla Thunderbird. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system. A remote user can conduct cross-site scripting attacks. A remote user can obtain potentially sensitive information. A remote user can spoof web sites.
A remote user can create specially crafted content that, when loaded by the target user, will trigger a memory corruption error and cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system [CVE-2012-1948, CVE-2012-1949, CVE-2012-1951, CVE-2012-1952, CVE-2012-1953, CVE-2012-1954, CVE-2012-1958, CVE-2012-1962]. The code will run with the privileges of the target user.
A remote user can cause arbitrary scripting code to be executed by the target user's browser [CVE-2012-1957, CVE-2012-1967]. The code will run in the security context of an arbitrary site. As a result, the code will be able to access the target user's cookies (including authentication cookies), if any, associated with the site, access data recently submitted by the target user via web form to the site, or take actions on the site acting as the target user.
A remote user can spoof the location property [CVE-2012-1955].
A remote user can bypass same-compartment security wrappers (SCSW) security restrictions [CVE-2012-1959].
A remote user can exploit a flaw in the color management library to read potentially sensitive information [CVE-2012-1960].
The browser may ignore the X-Frame-Options header, which may facilitate clickjacking attacks [CVE-2012-1961].
A remote user can bypass Content Security Policy restrictions to potentially access OAuth 2.0 access tokens and OpenID credentials [CVE-2012-1963].
Brian Smith, Gary Kwong, Christian Holler, Jesse Ruderman, Christoph Diehl, Chris Jones, Brad Lassey, Kyle Huey, Benoit Jacob, Bill McCloskey, Abhishek Arya, Mariusz Mlynski, Mario Heiderich, Arthur Gerkis, Bobby Holley, Tony Payne, Bill Keese, Frederic Buclin, Karthikeyan Bhargavan of Prosecco at INRIA, and moz_bug_r_a4 reported these vulnerabilities.
