Description:   A vulnerability was reported in CUPS. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system.

A remote user can create a specially crafted GIF file that, when processed by the target application, will trigger a buffer overflow in the gif_read_lzw() function in 'filter/image-gif.c' and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

[Editor's note: The vulnerability was introduced by an incomplete fix for CVE-2011-2896.]

Impact:   A remote user can create a file that, when loaded by the target application, will execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a source code fix.
