Description:
A vulnerability was reported in Mozilla Firefox. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system.
A remote user can create specially crafted HTML that, when loaded by the target user on a system running Firebug, will invoke XMLHttpRequestSpy object to execute arbitrary scripting code with chrome privileges. The chrome privilege escalation vulnerability resides in Firefox but is exposed via Firebug.

Impact:
A remote user can create HTML that, when loaded by the target user on a system running Firebug, will execute arbitrary code on the target user's system.

Solution:
The vendor has issued a fix (3.0.19, 3.5.8).

On December 9, 2010, the vendor reported that the fix can be circumvented and the new vulnerability has been assigned CVE-2010-3773. A new fix (3.5.16, 3.6.13) has been issued. The new advisory is available at:
