Description:   A vulnerability was reported in the Linux Kernel. A local user can obtain elevated privileges on the target system. A local user can cause denial of service conditions.

A local user can trigger a null pointer dereference in udp_sendmsg() using the MSG_MORE flag to cause denial of service conditions or potentially execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges.

Tavis Ormandy and Julien Tinnes of the Google Security Team reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A local user can obtain elevated privileges on the target system.

A local user can cause denial of service conditions on the target system.

Solution:   The vendor silently issued a fix (2.6.18.10).
