Description:   A vulnerability was reported in IBM AIX. A local user can obtain elevated privileges on the target system.

A local user can trigger a buffer overflow in the muxatmd command to execute arbitrary code with root privileges on the target system.

The vendor was notified on December 16, 2008.

An anonymous researcher reported this vulnerability via iDefense.

Impact:   A local user can obtain root privileges on the target system.
