Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Apple iPhone. The system may use a less secure VPN connection.

The device may revert to use a previously configured lower encryption level for PPTP VPN connections.

Stephen Butler of the University of Illinois of Urbana-Champaign reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   The system may use a less secure VPN connection than intended.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fixed version (2.2).
