Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Solstice X.25. A local user can cause denial of service conditions.

A local user with read permissions for '/dev/xty' can exploit a race condition in '/usr/kernel/strmod/s_xout' trigger a system panic on systems with multiple CPUs. By default, all users have read permissions for '/dev/xty'.

Solstice X.25 version 9.2 is affected.

Impact:   A local user can cause the target system to crash.
Solution:   Sun has issued the following fixes.

SPARC Platform

* X.25 9.2 (for Solaris 8, 9 and 10) with patch 108669-21 or later

x86 Platform

* X.25 9.2 (for Solaris 8, 9 and 10) with patch 108670-21 or later
