Description:
Two vulnerabilities were reported in Mac OS X Login Window. A local user can obtain access to the target system.
A user with access to the login window can exploit a race condition to gain access without providing a password [CVE-2008-3610]. Systems with the Guest account enabled or another account set up with no password are affected. Versions prior to 10.5 are not affected.
On systems configured to enforce policies on login passwords, when a user is required to change their password and the password change fails, the current password may not be cleared. A user with access to the login window may be able to change a user's password [CVE-2008-3611]. Version 10.5 and later versions are not affected. Christopher A. Grande of Middlesex Community College reported this vulnerability.
