Description:
A vulnerability was reported in Mac OS X. A local user can obtain elevated privileges on the target system.
A local user can populate the User Template directory with files that will become part of the home directory of a new user when the new user is created. A local user can exploit this flaw to execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the target (new) user.
Systems running Mac OS X 10.5 or later are not affected.
Andrew Mortensen of the University of Michigan reported this vulnerability.

Solution:
The vendor has issued a fix (Security Update 2008-004 and Mac OS X 10.5.4), which can be downloaded and installed via Software Update preferences, or from Apple Downloads at:
