Date:  Mar 26 2008
Impact:   Execution of arbitrary code via network, User access via network
Fix Available:  Yes  Vendor Confirmed:  Yes
Version(s): prior to 2.0.0.13
Description:   Several vulnerabilities were reported in Mozilla Firefox. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system.

A remote user can create a specially crafted JavaScript that, when loaded by the target user, will run with the wrong principal and execute arbitrary code on the target system [CVE-2008-1235]. The code will run with the privileges of the target user.

JavaScript from page content can also be executed with elevated privileges [CVE-2008-1233].

Cross-site scripting attacks by exploiting event handlers are also possible [CVE-2008-1234].

Some of these bugs are variants of previously reported XPCNativeWrapper bugs (reported by the vendor in MFSA 2007-25 and MFSA2007-35).

moz_bug_r_a4, Boris Zbarsky, and Johnny Stenback reported these vulnerabilities.

Impact:   A remote user can create JavaScript that, when loaded by the target user, will execute arbitrary code on the target user's system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fixed version (2.0.0.13).
