Description:
Several vulnerabilities were reported in Microsoft Internet Explorer. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system.
A remote user can create specially crafted HTML that, when loaded by the target user, will trigger a memory corruption error and execute arbitrary code on the target system. The code will run with the privileges of the target user.
The vulnerabilities can be triggered by HTML that accesses objects that have not been initialized or have been deleted and by HTML that makes certain unexpected method calls to HTML objects.
Peter Vreugdenhil, Sam Thomas, and an anonymous researcher reported these vulnerabilities via iDefense and/or TippingPoint.

A restart is required.
On December 18, 2007, Microsoft issued a knowledge base article regarding a performance issue with the patch on some Windows XP SP2-based systems (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/942615). On some of these systems, IE 6 may stop responding. However, the security fixes are still applied.
