Description:
A vulnerability was reported in IBM AIX. A local user can obtain elevated privileges on the target system.
A local user can invoke the atm subset of the arp command to trigger a buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code with root privileges on the target system.
The vendor discovered this vulnerability during an internal audit.

The vendor plans to issue the following fixes:
For 5.2.0: APAR IZ00521, available 10/31/2007
For 5.3.0: APAR IZ00510, available 08/08/2007
