Description:
A vulnerability was reported in Microsoft CAPICOM. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system.
The Cryptographic API Component Object Model (CAPICOM) ActiveX control does not properly process user-supplied input. A remote user can create specially crafted HTML that, when loaded by the target user, will invoke the control and execute arbitrary code on the target user's system. The code will run with the privileges of the target user.
Microsoft credits Chris Ries of VigilantMinds Inc. with reporting this vulnerability.
