Description:
A vulnerability was reported in tip(1) on Sun Solaris. A local user can obtain elevated privileges on the target system.
The tip(1) command uses unsafe creat() and fopen() calls. A local user can exploit this to execute arbitrary code on the target system with uucp (uid 5) privileges.

A local user can obtain uucp privileges on the target system.

Sun has issued the following fixes.

* Solaris 8 with patch 111504-02 or later
* Solaris 9 with patch 123368-01 or later
* Solaris 10 with patch 124997-01 or later

* Solaris 8 with patch 111505-02 or later
* Solaris 9 with patch 123369-01 or later
* Solaris 10 with patch 124998-01 or later
