Description:   A vulnerability was reported in ELOG. A remote user can cause denial of service conditions.

A remote user can send a request containing the string 'global' to trigger a NULL pointer dereference in parsing the configuration file and cause the target service to crash.

If the application is configured with password protection, the remote user must be authenticated to trigger this flaw.

The vulnerability resides in the show_elog_list() function in 'elogd.c'.

The vendor was notified on November 8, 2006.

Jayesh KS and Arun Kethipelly of OS2A discovered this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can cause the target service to crash.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fixed version (2.6.2-7 (SVN revision 1749)), available at:
