Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Adobe Download Manager. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system.

A remote user can create specially crafted HTML that, when loaded by the target user, will trigger a stack overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system. The code will run with the privileges of the target user.

Users of other Adobe software, including Adobe Reader, may also have Adobe Download Manager installed.

Adobe credits TippingPoint and eEye Digital Security with reporting this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can create HTML that, when loaded by the target user, will execute arbitrary code on the target user's system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fixed version (2.2).

Software distributed by Adobe of December 5, 2006 includes the fixed version.

Adobe recommends that users uninstall version 2.1.
