Description:   A vulnerability was reported in WinZip. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system.

A remote user can create specially crafted HTML that, when loaded by the target user, will trigger a flaw in the FileView ActiveX control and execute arbitrary code on the target system. The code will run with the privileges of the target user.

The 'WZFILEVIEW.FileViewCtrl.61' is affected. The CLSID is:


Version 9.0 and prior versions are not affected.

The control was reportedly developed by Sky Software.

The vendor was notified on August 28, 2006.
