Description:   A vulnerability was reported in libpthread. A local user can obtain root privileges on the target system.

A local user can exploit a flaw in the POSIX Threads library ('libpthread') to execute arbitrary code on the target system with root level privileges.

HP Tru64 UNIX versions 5.1B-2/PK4 and 5.1B-3 are not affected.

The vendor credits Adriel T. Desautels of Netragard, L.L.C with reporting this vulnerability.

Impact:   A local user can obtain root privileges on the target system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued the following Early Release Patches.
