Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Novell GroupWise Messenger Agents. A remote user can cause denial of service conditions.

A remote user can send an HTTP POST request with a specially crafted 'val' parameter value to port 8300 on the target system to cause the target Messenger service to crash.

The vendor indicates that zero-size strings in blowfish data can trigger the flaw.

The vendor was notified on August 17, 2006.

The vendor credits CIRT.DK and with reporting this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can cause the target service to crash.
Solution:   Novell has issued Hot Patches.
