Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Symantec Enterprise Security Manager. A remote user can cause denial of service conditions.

A remote user can send a specially crafted request to the manager server, acting as an Enterprise Security Manager (ESM) agent, to cause the target ESM manager and agent to lock up.

A restart on both the agent and the manager is required to return to normal operations.

Symantec credits Anthony Bettini of McAfee with reporting this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can cause the manager and agent to lock up.
