Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Solaris. A local user can cause denial of service conditions.

A local user may be able to invoke the special "/net" mount point (or another mount point that uses the "-hosts" special map) to cause denial of service conditions on the target system. This occurs due to a continuous loop while performing a directory lookup on 'localhost'.

Solaris 8 and 9 are not affected.

Impact:   A local user can cause denial of service conditions on the target system.
Solution:   Sun has issued a fix:

SPARC Platform

* Solaris 10 with patch 118833-11 or later

x86 Platform

* Solaris 10 with patch 118855-08 or later
