SecurityTracker Alert ID:  1016408
SecurityTracker URL:  http://securitytracker.com/id/1016408
CVE Reference:   CVE-2006-3364   (Links to External Site)
Updated:  Aug 12 2008
Original Entry Date:  Jun 29 2006
Impact:   Disclosure of system information, Disclosure of user information, User access via network
Exploit Included:  Yes
Version(s): 4.0.0k
Description:   A vulnerability was reported in BLOG:CMS. A remote user can inject SQL commands.

The software does not properly validate user-supplied input in the 'id' parameter. A remote user can supply a specially crafted parameter value to execute SQL commands on the underlying database.

This can be exploited regardless of the magic_quotes_gpc setting.

rgod reported this vulnerability.

The original advisory is available at:

http://retrogod.altervista.org/blogcms_400k_sql.html

  "id" argument is not sanitized before to be used in a sql query...

  also you can inject sql statements regardless of magic_quotes_gpc settings,

  look at undoMagic() function in vars4.1.0.php:

  // removes magic quotes if that option is enabled

  function undoMagic($data) {

	return get_magic_quotes_gpc() ? stripslashes($data) : $data;

  }

  very nice code :)
