Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Clam AntiVirus. A remote user can execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The 'freshclam' utility does not properly validate user-supplied HTTP headers. When a remote server returns a server response to the connected freshclam client, the remote server can send a specially crafted server response to trigger a stack overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

This vulnerability was originally reported in April 2006.

Ulf Harnhammar discovered this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fixed version (0.88.2).
