Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Microsoft PowerPoint. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system.

A remote user can create a specially crafted PowerPoint file that contains a malformed record. When the file is loaded by the target user, a buffer overflow will occur and arbitrary code will be executed on the target system. The code will run with the privileges of the target user.

Microsoft credits Nicolas Ruff, Fabrice Desclaux, and Kostya Kortchinsky of European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company, Symantec, and Dejun Meng of Fortinet Security Response Team with separately reporting this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can create a PowerPoint file that, when loaded by the target user, will execute arbitrary code on the target user's system.
