CVE Reference:   CVE-2006-2924, CVE-2006-2925   (Links to External Site)

Original Entry Date:  Jun 8 2006

Fix Available:  Yes  Vendor Confirmed:  Yes
Version(s): prior to 4.4.1
Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Ingate Firewall. A remote user can cause denial of service conditions. A remote user can conduct cross-site scripting attacks.

If TLS is enabled for the SIP module, a remote user can send specially crafted SSL/TLS data to the SIP module cause the target service to crash and restart. The web service is also affected.

The device does not properly filter HTML code from user-supplied input before displaying the input. A remote user can create a specially crafted URL that, when loaded by a target user, will cause arbitrary scripting code to be executed by the target user's browser. The code will originate from the Ingate Firewall and will run in the security context of that device. As a result, the code will be able to access the target user's cookies (including authentication cookies), if any, associated with the device, access data recently submitted by the target user via web form to the device, or take actions on the device acting as the target user.

Impact:   A remote user can cause denial of service conditions.

A remote user can access the target user's cookies (including authentication cookies), if any, associated with the Ingate Firewall, access data recently submitted by the target user via web form to the device, or take actions on the device acting as the target user.
