Description:   A vulnerability was reported in rexecd on Sun Solaris when running Kerberos. A local user can obtain elevated privileges.

A local user can exploit an unspecified flaw in the in.rexecd(1M) daemon running on Kerberos systems to overwrite thread-specific data and obtain elevated privileges.

Solaris 8 and Solaris 9 are not affected.

Impact:   A local user can obtain elevated privileges.
Solution:   Sun has issued the following fixes.

SPARC Platform

* Solaris 10 with patch 120329-02 or later

x86 Platform

* Solaris 10 with patch 120330-02 or later
