Description:   A vulnerability was reported in ALZip. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system.

The software contains buffer overflows in the processing of filenames of compressed files in ALZ, ARJ, ZIP, UUE, and XXE archives. A remote user can create an archive with a compressed file with a specially crafted filename. When the archive is opened or extracted, arbitrary code will be executed on the target system.

The vendor was notified on September 19, 2005.

Tan Chew Keong of Secunia Research discovered this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can create an archive that, when processed by the target user, will cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fixed version (6.13 [Korean and International]).
