Description:   A vulnerability was reported in TrendMicro PC-cillin in the processing of ARJ archives. A remote user may be able to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

A remote user can create a specially crafted ARJ archive with a long file name field in the local header that, when processed by the TrendMicro virus scan engine, will trigger a buffer overflow and potentially execute arbitrary code. Filenames of up to 2600 bytes may be copied to a 512 byte buffer.

The flaw resides in the ARJ archive file format parser.

Internet Security Systems discovered this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fixed version of the scan engine (VSAPI 7.510 or higher), available at:
