Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Cisco IOS in the embedded call processing support. A remote user can cause denial of service conditions.

The vendor reported that when certain versions of IOS are configured for the Cisco IOS Telephony Service (ITS), Cisco CallManager Express (CME), or Survivable Remote Site Telephony (SRST), the system may be affected. A remote user can send specially crafted Skinny Call Control Protocol (SCCP) packets to the SCCP port (TCP/2000) on an IOS device configured for ITS, CME, or SRST to cause the target device to reload.

Cisco has assigned Cisco bug ID CSCee08584 to this flaw.

Cisco credits SecureTest with reporting this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can cause the target device to reload.
