Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Juniper Junos. A remote user can cause denial of service conditions on the target system.

A remote user can send a flood of ARP requests to the management interface to fill the IP next-hop index database. As a result, no further hops can be learned and existing entries cannot be cleared.

The following is an indicator of this vulnerability:

%KERN-4: Nexthop index allocation failed: private index space exhausted

Regular transit traffic through the FPCs is not affected.

The vendor has assigned PR 1360039 to this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can cause denial of service conditions on the target system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix.
