Description:   A vulnerability was reported in some Red Hat PostgreSQL initialization scripts. A local user can obtain root privileges on the target system. IBM Spectrum Protect Plus is affected.

A local user with 'postgres' user privileges can exploit a race condition in several of the initialization and setup scripts to obtain root privileges on the target system.

Antoine Scemama (Brainloop) and Pedro Barbosa (Red Hat) reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A local user with 'postgres' user privileges can obtain root privileges on the target system.
Solution:   IBM has issued a fix for IBM Spectrum Protect Plus (10.1.2).
