Description:   A vulnerability was reported in the Linux kernel. A remote user can cause denial of service conditions on the target system.

A remote user can send multiple specially crafted USB over IP packets to the target system to trigger a use-after-free memory error or a null pointer dereference and cause denial of service conditions on the target system.

Systems with the USB over IP daemon (usbipd) enabled are affected.

Jakub Jirasek, Secunia Research at Flexera, reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can cause denial of service conditions.
Solution:   Ubuntu has issued a fix.
