SecurityTracker Alert ID:  1041359
SecurityTracker URL:  http://securitytracker.com/id/1041359
CVE Reference:   CVE-2018-11059, CVE-2018-11060   (Links to External Site)
Date:  Jul 20 2018
Impact:   Disclosure of authentication information, Disclosure of user information, Execution of arbitrary code via network, Modification of user information, User access via network
Fix Available:  Yes  Vendor Confirmed:  Yes
Version(s): 6.1.x, 6.2.x, 6.3.x, 6.4
Description:   Two vulnerabilities were reported in RSA Archer. A remote authenticated user can gain elevated privileges. A remote authenticated user can conduct cross-site scripting attacks.

The software does not properly filter HTML code from user-supplied input before displaying the input [CVE-2018-11059]. A remote authenticated user can cause arbitrary scripting code to be executed by the target user's browser. The code will originate from the site running the RSA Archer eGRC software and will run in the security context of that site. As a result, the code will be able to access the target user's cookies (including authentication cookies), if any, associated with the site, access data recently submitted by the target user via web form to the site, or take actions on the site acting as the target user.

A remote authenticated user can bypass REST API access controls to gain elevated privileges on the target system [CVE-2018-11060].

Francesca Perrone and Donato Onofri of Business Integration Partners reported one vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote authenticated user can gain elevated privileges on the target system.

A remote authenticated user can access the target user's cookies (including authentication cookies), if any, associated with the site running the RSA Archer eGRC software, access data recently submitted by the target user via web form to the site, or take actions on the site acting as the target user.

Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (6.1.0.3, 6.2.0.10, 6.3.0.7, 6.4.0.1; Advisory DSA-2018-130).
