Description:   A vulnerability was reported in curl. A remote user can execute arbitrary code on the target system. curl is affected.

When a system invokes curl to send data via SMTP and uses a reduced read buffer, a buffer overflow may occur. A remote user that can cause the target system to trigger these conditions may be able to cause denial of service conditions or execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Peter Wu reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user may be able to cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target system in certain cases.
Solution:   Ubuntu has issued a fix for curl.
