Description:   Multiple vulnerabilities were reported in Microsoft Edge. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system. A remote user can bypass security controls on the target system.

A remote user can create specially crafted content that, when loaded by the target user, will trigger an object memory handling error and execute arbitrary code on the target user's system [CVE-2018-8262, CVE-2018-8274, CVE-2018-8275, CVE-2018-8279, CVE-2018-8301, CVE-2018-8125].

A remote user can create specially crafted content that, when loaded by the target user, will trigger an object memory handling error in Chakra scripting engine and execute arbitrary code on the target user's system [CVE-2018-8280, CVE-2018-8286, CVE-2018-8290, CVE-2018-8294].

A remote user can create a specially crafted ActiveX control marked "safe for initialization" in an application or Microsoft Office document that hosts the related rendering engine that, when loaded by the target user, will trigger a memory corruption error in the JavaScript engine and execute arbitrary code on the target user's system [CVE-2018-8287, CVE-2018-8288, CVE-2018-8291].

A remote user can bypass the Chakra scripting engine Control Flow Guard (CFG) [CVE-2018-8276].

Omair (via KrashConsulting), Akayn (via Trend Micro's Zero Day Initiative, Aradnok, Jihui Lu of Tencent KeenLab, Simon Zuckerbraun with Trend Micro's Zero Day Initiative, Kai Kang (@4B5F5F4B), Lokihardt of Google Project Zero, Johnathan Norman - WDG OS Security Team, Alexandru Pitis of Microsoft Corporation, Debasish Mandal of the McAfee Labs HIPS R&D reported these vulnerabilities.

Impact:   A remote user can create content that, when loaded by the target user, will execute arbitrary code on the target user's system.

A remote user can bypass security controls on the target system.

Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix.
