Description:   A vulnerability was reported in F5 BIG-IP. A remote user can cause denial of service conditions on the target system.

A remote user can conduct a 'Zip Bomb' attack by sending specially crafted data to a target system that uses the inflate function, either via an iRule or via the PEM module, to cause a data plane service disruption on the target system.

Systems deployed in Forward Proxy mode with the inflate functionality enabled are affected. Other configurations may also be affected.

The control plane is not affected.

The vendor has assigned ID 676457 to this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can cause denial of service conditions on the target data plane.
Solution:   F5 has issued a fix (11.5.6, 11.6.3.2, 12.1.3.2, 13.1.0.4).
