Description:   Several vulnerabilities were reported in IBM DB2. A local user can modify files on the target system.

A local user can create a symbolic link (symlink) from an arbitrary critical file on the target system to a file owned by the Db2 instance account to cause the critical file to be overwritten by the Db2 process.

Rich Mirch reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A local user can overwrite files on the target system with the privileges of the Db2 process.
Solution:   IBM has issued a fix (APARs IT24171, IT24215, IT24216, IT24217).
