Description:   A vulnerability was reported in BIND. A remote authenticated user can cause the target service to crash.

A remote authenticated user that can cause the target server to initiate zone transfers (e.g., can send NOTIFY messages) can cause several transfers of a slave zone in quick succession to trigger an assertion in 'rbtdb.c' and cause named to crash.

SWITCH reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote authenticated user can cause the target 'named' service to crash.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (9.12.1-P1).
