Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Cisco 7800 and 8800 Series IP Phones. A remote user can cause denial of service conditions on the target system.

A remote user can send a specially crafted Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) packet to trigger an input validation flaw in the SIP Session Description Protocol (SDP) parser and cause the SIP process to restart and all active phone calls on the target device to be dropped.

The vendor has assigned bug ID CSCvf40066 to this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can cause all active phone calls on the target device to be dropped.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix.
