Description:
A vulnerability was reported in 7-Zip. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target system.
A remote user can create a specially crafted archive file that, when processed by the target application, will trigger a data structure initialization error in decoding solid compression data in files detected as RAR files and execute arbitrary code on the target system. The code will run with the privileges of the target application.
The vendor was notified on March 6, 2018.
