Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Cisco Aironet Access Points. A remote user can cause the target system to reload.

A remote user on a device that is registered to the local network can initiate a Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP) connection to the target device on the same local network and send a specially crafted Generic Routing Encapsulation (GRE) frame through the data plane on the target device to cause the NSS core process to crash and the device to reload.

The vendor has assigned bug ID CSCvf73890 to this vulnerability.

Simon Lockhart of CableCom Networking reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can cause the target system to reload.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (8.5.120.0).
