Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Xen. A local user on the guest system can obtain potentially sensitive information.

A local user on a guest system can supply a specially crafted CDROM image to read arbitrary files or device nodes on the dom0 filesystem with the privileges of the quem devicemodel process.

x86 HVM guests with a virtual CDROM device on systems with qemu-xen running in dom0 are affected.

Anthony Perard of Citrix reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A local user on a guest system can read arbitrary files or device nodes on the dom0 filesystem with the privileges of the quem devicemodel process.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (xsa258-4.6.patch, xsa258-4.8.patch, and xsa258.patch).
