Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Xen. A local user on the guest system can cause denial of service conditions on the host system.

A local user on the guest system that can reboot the guest system can trigger an 8 byte memory leak in MSR emulation when a vcpu is destroyed. This can be repeated to consume all available system memory on the host system.

x86 systems are affected.

Andrew Cooper of Citrix reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A local user on the guest system can consume all available system memory on the host system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (xsa253.patch).
