Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Xen. A local user on the guest system can cause denial of service conditions on the host system.

A local user on a PV guest system running in log-dirty mode can trigger a memory sharing bug in the global machine to physical address translation table (M2P) to cause the hypervisor to crash.

x86 systems are affected.

Jan Beulich of SUSE reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A local user on the guest system can cause denial of service conditions on the host system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (xsa251-4.5.patch, xsa251-4.8.patch, and xsa251.patch).
