Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Cisco ASA. A remote user can consume excessive CPU resources on the target system.

A remote user can send a stream of specially crafted IP packets to create connections on the target device and exploit an internal software lock error and consume excessive CPU resources on the target system. As a result, traffic through the target device may be delayed.

The following models are affected:

ASA 5500 Series
ASA 5500-X Series
ASA Services Module for Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series and Cisco 7600 Series
Adaptive Security Virtual Appliances (ASAv)

The vendor has assigned bug ID CSCvf63718 to this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can consume excessive CPU resources on the target system and cause traffic through the target system to be delayed.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (,,,,,,, 9.9.1).
