Description:   Multiple vulnerabilities were reported in Mozilla Firefox. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system. A remote user can cause denial of service conditions on the target system. A remote user can bypass security controls on the target system. A remote user can obtain potentially sensitive information on the target system. A remote user can spoof URLs. A remote user can conduct cross-site scripting attacks. Mozilla Thunderbird is affected.

A remote user can create specially crafted content that, when loaded by the target user, will execute arbitrary code on the target user's system [CVE-2018-5125, CVE-2018-5126, CVE-2018-5127, CVE-2018-5128, CVE-2018-5129, CVE-2018-5130, CVE-2018-5144, CVE-2018-5145].

A remote user can spoof domain names via Android Custom Tab [CVE-2018-5138]. Android-based systems are affected.

The software does not properly filter HTML code from user-supplied input before displaying the input [CVE-2018-5143]. A remote user can cause arbitrary scripting code to be executed by the target user's browser via a 'javascript:' url with an embedded tab character. The code will originate from the target site and will run in the security context of that site. As a result, the code will be able to access the target user's cookies (including authentication cookies), if any, associated with the site, access data recently submitted by the target user via web form to the site, or take actions on the site acting as the target user.

A remote user can send a specially crafted request to view potentially sensitive information on the target system. The Fetch API is affected [CVE-2018-5131]. The WebExtension Find API is affected [CVE-2018-5132]. The 'moz-icon:' protocol is affected [CVE-2018-5140]. A legacy extension is affected [CVE-2018-5137]. The 'app.support.baseURL' preference is affected.
[CVE-2018-5133].

A remote user can invoke 'view-source:' URLs to bypass content restrictions and view potentially sensitive information in local files and the 'about:cache' [CVE-2018-5134].

A remote user can exploit a flaw in WebExtension browserAction to bypass restrictions and inject scripts into unintended contexts [CVE-2018-5135].

A remote user can invoke a shared worker via a 'data:' URL in one table to bypass same-origin policy and access data in another tab [CVE-2018-5136].

A remote user can exploit a flaw in the notifications Push API to cause denial of service conditions on the target user's system or cause content from arbitrary URLs to be displayed on the target user's system [CVE-2018-5141].

A remote user can exploit a flaw in the Media Capture and Streams API permissions to display incorrect origin information to the target user [CVE-2018-5142].

Abdulrahman Alqabandi, Andy McKay, Ben Kelly, Bob Clary, Calixte Denizet, Christian Holler, Fran├žois Lajeunesse-Robert, Gary Kwong, James Grant, Jason Kratzer, Jun Kokatsu, Karl Tomlinson, Masato Kinugawa, Nils, Nils Ohlmeier, Noemi Erli, Olli Pettay, Philipp, Ralph Giles, Randell Jesup, Ronald Crane, Ryan VanderMeulen, Sebastian Hengst, Tony Paloma, Tyson Smith, Zohar, and rugk reported these vulnerabilities.

Impact:   A remote user can create content that, when loaded by the target user, will execute arbitrary code on the target user's system.

A remote user can cause denial of service conditions.

A remote user can bypass security controls on the target system.

A remote user can obtain potentially sensitive information on the target system.

A remote user can spoof a URL.

A remote user can access the target user's cookies (including authentication cookies), if any, associated with an arbitrary site, access data recently submitted by the target user via web form to the site, or take actions on the site acting as the target user.

Solution:   Oracle has issued a fix for CVE-2018-5125, CVE-2018-5127, CVE-2018-5129, CVE-2018-5144, and CVE-2018-5145 for Mozilla Thunderbird.
