Description:   Two vulnerabilities were reported in Microsoft Office. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system. A remote user can obtain potentially sensitive information on the target system.

A remote user can create a specially crafted file that, when loaded by the target user, will trigger an object memory handling error execute arbitrary code on the target system [CVE-2018-0851]. The code will run with the privileges of the target user.

The Preview Pane is not an attack vector.

A remote user can create a specially crafted file that, when loaded by the target user, will trigger an out-of-bound memory access error and access potentially sensitive information on the target system [CVE-2018-0853].

Ben Faull of Microsoft Office Security and Dmitri Kaslov of Telspace Systems reported these vulnerabilities.

Impact:   A remote user can create content that, when loaded by the target user, will execute arbitrary code or obtain potentially sensitive information on the target user's system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix.
