Description:   Multiple vulnerabilities were reported in Mozilla Thunderbird. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system. A remote user can obtain potentially sensitive information on the target system. A remote user can spoof the sender's email address.

A remote user can create specially crafted content that, when loaded by the target user, will trigger a buffer overflow in Direct 3D 9 with the ANGLE graphics library and execute arbitrary code on the target user's system [CVE-2017-7845]. Windows-based systems are affected.

A remote user can create specially crafted RSS content that, when viewed by the target user as a web site, will trigger a flaw in 'mailbox://' content processing and execute arbitrary JavaScript code on the target user's system [CVE-2017-7846].

A remote user can create specially crafted CSS in an RSS feed that, when loaded by the target user, will view potentially sensitive information in local path strings on the target system, which may contain username data [CVE-2017-7847].

A remote user can create specially crafted RSS fields to inject new lines into the message body [CVE-2017-7848].

A remote user can spoof the sender's email address via an encoded null character in the message header [CVE-2017-7829].

Omair, Sabri Haddouche, and cure53 reported these vulnerabilities.

Impact:   A remote user can create content that, when loaded by the target user, will execute arbitrary code on the target user's system.

A remote user can obtain potentially sensitive information on the target system.

A remote user can spoof the sender's email address.

Solution:   Ubuntu has issued a fix for CVE-2017-7829, CVE-2017-7846, CVE-2017-7847, and CVE-2017-7848.
