Description:   A vulnerability was reported in the Linux kernel. A local user can obtain elevated privileges on the target system.

The Extended BPF verifier ('kernel/bpf/verifier.c') does not properly evaluate stack frame pointers. A local user can run a specially crafted application to trigger an integer overflow or memory access error to execute arbitrary code on the target system with elevated privileges.

Jann Horn reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A local user can obtain elevated privileges on the target system.
Solution:   Ubuntu has issued a fix.
